Mini-Split Installation
Ductless heating and cooling for the room your central system can't reach — bonus rooms over the garage, finished basements, sunrooms, garages, additions, and shops. Mitsubishi authorized installer with full cold-climate options.
Where Mini-Splits Win
If you have one room that's always 8°F off from the rest of the house, a mini-split fixes it for a fraction of the cost of running new ductwork.
Bonus Rooms Over Garage
The classic Indiana FROG (Finished Room Over Garage) problem. Cold floor, hot in summer. A 9k or 12k BTU mini-split solves it permanently.
Garages & Shops
Year-round comfortable garage gym, workshop, or studio without adding to the home's heat load.
Sunrooms & Additions
Big glass = big load. Existing ductwork can't handle it. A ductless head sized to the space does.
Basements
Finished basement that always feels damp? A mini-split adds cooling AND removes humidity.
Whole-Home Multi-Zone
For ductless retrofits — older Lebanon and Zionsville Village homes where adding ducts isn't realistic.
Server Rooms / Offices
Dedicated cooling for spaces with high internal heat load that the central system can't keep up with.
Honest Price Ranges
Includes equipment, refrigerant line set, electrical, mounting, condensate, permit, and tax. Final number depends on capacity needed and line set length.
Single-Zone Standard
9k, 12k, or 18k BTU. Mitsubishi or Daikin. Heat + cool one room.
Single-Zone Cold-Climate
Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat. Holds capacity to 5°F, useful heat at −13°F.
Multi-Zone (2-5 heads)
One outdoor unit, multiple indoor heads. Whole-home or zoned coverage.
Cold-climate models qualify for 25C federal tax credit up to $2,000. Financing available.

Mini-Split FAQ
Will a mini-split heat my bonus room over the garage all winter?
A properly sized cold-climate model (Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat 12k or 18k BTU depending on insulation) will heat a typical FROG room down to single-digit outdoor temps. For the 4-6 days/year colder than that, supplement with a small electric backup or close the room off temporarily.
How big a mini-split do I need?
Rule of thumb: 9,000 BTU per 350 sq ft of well-insulated space, more for spaces with lots of glass or high ceilings. We do an actual room-by-room load calc instead of guessing.
How loud is the indoor head?
Modern wall-mount heads run 19-25 dB on low fan speed — quieter than a whisper. The outdoor unit is louder (~50 dB) but mounts outside.
Do I need a permit?
Yes — Indiana requires mechanical and electrical permits for mini-split installs. We pull both.
Can a mini-split replace my whole HVAC system?
For older homes without ductwork — absolutely. A 3-4 head multi-zone Mitsubishi system can cover a 2,000 sq ft house comfortably. For homes with existing ductwork that works, a central system is usually cheaper per BTU.
Are mini-splits eligible for tax credits?
Cold-climate models meeting CEE Tier 2 specs qualify for the federal 25C credit (up to $2,000). We supply the AHRI certificate at install.
