Furnace Installation

Furnace Installation

Properly sized 80% or 95%+ AFUE gas furnaces installed by combustion-certified techs. Manual J load calc, written quote, every install combustion-tested at commissioning. Lebanon, Zionsville, and all of Boone County.

Oversizing Is the #1 Install Mistake

Half the Indiana furnaces we replace are oversized by 20-40%. They short-cycle, blow the heat exchanger, and die at year 12 instead of year 22. We do an ACCA Manual J load calc on every install — not just match-and-replace whatever's there now.

Manual J Load Calc

Whole-home heat-loss calculation. We size to actual demand, not "what was here before."

Gas Line + Vent Check

We verify gas line CFH and B-vent/PVC vent sizing matches the new furnace before we quote.

Furnace, install labor, gas piping, venting, condensate kit, permit, tax — every line itemized.

80% vs 95%+ AFUE — Which Is Right

For Indiana climate the answer is usually 95%+ AFUE. The 15-year fuel savings outpace the upfront cost. But if your existing chimney is shared with a water heater, switching to PVC venting needs a chimney liner — that's a budget conversation.

80% AFUE (Single-Stage)

Vents into chimney. Lower install cost, no condensate. Reasonable choice if budget is tight or the chimney is dedicated to the furnace only.

$4,500-$6,500 installed

95%+ AFUE (Two-Stage / Variable)

PVC sidewall vent, condensate drain, quieter, much lower gas bills. 10-15% better real-world efficiency. The right choice for most homes.

$6,500-$10,500 installed

Includes Manual J, permit, gas line and venting, condensate, equipment, install, and tax. Financing available.

Furnace Installation FAQ

How long does a furnace install take?

Same-flue swap with no venting changes: one day, 5-7 hours. 80% to 95% conversion with new PVC venting and condensate routing: 1.5-2 days.

Do you replace the AC at the same time?

If the AC is over 12 years old, usually yes — the labor overlap saves you $1,500+ vs. doing them separately. We'll quote both ways so you can decide.

What's the difference between single-stage and two-stage?

Single-stage runs full blast or off. Two-stage runs at ~67% most of the time and kicks to 100% only on the coldest days — quieter, more even heat, longer equipment life. Worth the upgrade if budget allows.

Do I need a permit?

Yes. Boone County and most local municipalities require a mechanical permit for new furnace installs. We pull it; the inspection is part of our process.

What about federal tax credits?

The 25C credit for high-efficiency gas furnaces is still active in 2026 (up to $600). Heat pumps get a larger credit. We provide the AHRI certificate for your tax filing.

Should I get financing or pay cash?

If you qualify for the 0% intro promotional terms, financing is essentially free money. If you'd otherwise pull from a 401k or HELOC, financing usually wins. Current terms here.
